Cristiano Ronaldo has officially launched his new YouTube channel, UR.

Described as an opportunity to “engage further with his global fanbase”, the former Manchester United forward is set to share content on football, family, wellness, nutrition, preparation, recovery, education, and business, as well as chat with guests.

The new channel launched on 21 August and in less than 90 minutes it had surpassed a million followers, breaking the world record for most subscribers gained in one hour. Within four hours, his new page had reached more than four million subscribers.

“I am very happy to make this project come to life,” said Ronaldo. “It has been in my mind for a long time, but finally we have the opportunity to make it real. I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so, and they will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects. I am also looking forward to sharing conversations with guests that will no doubt surprise people!”

Ronaldo, who plays for Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, quickly racked up 30 million subscribers over the first two days after launch, but he’s still got a little way to go before he can claim the top spot from Jimmy Donaldson, better known as ‘Mr Beast’, who has more than 300 million subscribers.

Ronaldo also has 170 million Facebook subscribers, 112,6 million on X and 636 million on Instagram.
