Bestmed and Golden Lions Announce New Partnership

The Golden Lions Rugby Union has announced that it has concluded a partnership with South African medical scheme Bestmed.

Bestmed will partner with the GLRU’s referees in a bid to further support the work of match officials on the club and schools scene.

The deal will see Bestmed as the title sponsors of GLRU referees until November of this year.

Bestmed has been in the market for 57 years and sees the partnership as an opportunity to drive greater brand awareness.

“Refereeing serves as an ideal vehicle for brand visibility and this partnership provides us further opportunities to entrench our influence in local communities where we can make a difference,” said Madelein Barkhuizen, Bestmed’s Executive Manager of Sales and Marketing.

Development and transforming the sector is key for us and this is an ideal opportunity for us to enhance our referee programs on the local scene.”
