Cricket South Africa has taken over operations at Border and Northern Cape Cricket.
CSA shared its decision to exercise its step-in rights under its Memorandum of Incorporation regarding governance matters at the two unions.
This decision follows challenges the two unions have faced in meeting obligations outlined in CSA Regulations, including a failure to timeously submit unqualified audited financial statements and concerns around the general lack of adherence to standard governance practices.

As a result, the boards of Border and NCC will be temporarily dissolved, with CSA-appointed administrators stepping in to manage the affairs of the unions for the duration of this step-in period.
Those administrators are Greg Fredericks and Jesse Chellan, with Fredericks assigned to Border and Chellan to NCC. Their appointments are effective immediately.
“The decision was made after thoughtful consideration by the CSA board and after extensive engagements with both unions,” said CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki. “We believe this step-in will help Border and NCC improve their operational, financial, and governance structures, ultimately strengthening their standing as CSA members moving forward.”
