Lions Cricket powers up with Kanu Equipment

Share

Lions Cricket has signed a partnership agreement with Kanu Equipment, which specialises in the supply of earth-moving, mining, construction, road construction, agriculture and forestry equipment.

As part of the announcement, both parties said they had big plans for the new partnership.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Kanu Equipment join our family,” said Lions Cricket CEO, Jono Leaf-Wright. “One of the most thrilling items for me is the provision of the 10 pitch rollers to our community clubs, which will enhance the quality of cricket being played and further improve our already powerful pipeline. Because of this partnership, we will have better cricket pitches in our system that will assist hundreds of talented youngers to perform even better and showcase their skills on a fair pitch. The pitch is the stage and as the custodians of cricket, it is the duty of Lions Cricket with the assistance and hard work of our wonderful clubs to make sure that the players stage is always set come game day, and that all that’s left to do, is for the players to perform to the best of their ability.”

The rollers in question will be fully serviced and maintained by Kanu Equipment for 10 years.

“That takes a huge load off our shoulders,” said Leaf-Wright. “Further to this, those clubs who will be receiving new rollers will have any current rollers they may have refurbished by Lions Cricket and donated to other clubs in need.”

Commencing immediately, visitors to DP World Wanderers will see the presence of the Kanu Equipment brand throughout the stadium.

“I have personally seen the change that cricket can make in community development,” said Kanu Equipment CEO, Stephen Smithyman. “We are fully supportive of the excellent work that the Lions do in supporting their cricket clubs and unearthing talent within these communities. Kanu Equipment is proud to play a small role in this by assisting Lions Cricket in their cricket pitches and providing world-class BOMAG equipment. We would also like to thank our equipment partners BOMAG, as without their world-class rollers this would not be possible.”
