OPPO and French Open Celebrate Night Time Play

Mobile phone brand OPPO took over the court ahead of the French Open final at Roland Garros for a new stunt designed to tie in with the tournament’s new lighting facility.

2020 was the first year in which some French Open courts were lit up at night to avoid bad light stopping play. 

The brand worked with organisers to create an interactive ‘Shot of the Night’ light show the night before the men’s singles finals, with French star Gaël Monfils and tennis freestyler Stefan Bojic serving a few balls back and forth on a neon-lit court, with a small number of lucky fans getting the chance to play with them. 

Each point scored caused the light patterns to change, promoting the night photography function on the brand’s smartphone cameras.
