Prescient Looking to Leverage Freedom Paddle

Prescient Investment Management is looking to maximise and effectively leverage its sponsorship of the Freedom Paddle, which takes place in Cape Town on the 27th of April.

The Prescient Freedom Paddle sees competitors paddling 27 kilometres around Robben Island – a symbol of South Africa’s triumph of democracy and freedom.

The race has become a fixture on the paddling calendar and is one of the largest and more unique surfski races in South Africa, incorporating SUP (Stand-Up Paddle boards), prone paddlers and rowing sculls.

The Treble Group brokered the Prescient deal in 2020, which included sponsorship, event management, marketing, and operations. The renewal has seen Treble awarded the added value of a leveraging budget to deliver the sponsorship and association with the Prescient Freedom Paddle brand.

This includes delivering brand activations for Prescient that will serve to enhance its client’s experience on event day, while also working with traditional media services to champion the Prescient brand within the competitive paddling arena.

“The immense success of the event in late-2020 after a postponement from April to October due to Covid-19 shows true commitment. The inclement weather on the day resulted in a five-hour delay of the paddle race, but approximately 250 paddlers were in their surfskis waiting patiently at the start line. At Prescient, we resonate with the paddler’s perseverance and commitment for success,” said Wisahl Ganief, Head of Marketing at Prescient.
