Tatjana Schoenmaker Signs with Eagle Ford

South African swimmer Tatjana Schoenmaker has signed with car dealership Eagle Ford.

She was previously sponsored by Ford Fury, with that deal coming to an end in December.

Schoenmaker, one of South Africa’s leading medal contenders ahead of the postponed Olympic Games in Tokyo this year, will receive a brand new Ford Ecosport Titanium as part of the deal.

“With just six months to the start of the Tokyo Olympics, I am both excited and nervous, but my training is on track and I’m preparing as best I can,” said Schoenmaker. “I am grateful to Eagle Ford for supporting women in sport, especially during these tough times, and enabling me to get to training and all the other areas of preparation which are required to compete at the highest level.”

Schoenmaker, a World Championship silver medallist in the 200m breaststroke and a double Commonwealth Games and World Student Games gold medallist, will line up among the favourites in her specialist stroke at the Games, which is scheduled to get underway on 23 July.

“We have chosen to support Tatjana Schoenmaker because Eagle Ford shares many of her characteristics,” said Craig Gillesen, Dealer Principal at Eagle Ford. “These characteristics include high performance, reliability, precision, effort, strength, passion, power, pride and drive. Tatjana is a perfect match for Eagle Ford. Much like the multiple national record holder, we are also driven relentlessly to reach for the summit and excel in our field. By backing Tatjana we hope to enable her to continue being the champion swimmer she is, and to assist her in becoming the best she can be.”
