THIRSTI Water has announced the signing of a three-year agreement as the Absa Cape Epic’s Official Water Partner.
The mountain biking event, scheduled to take place from 17-24 October, is the largest and most televised full-service mountain bike stage race in the world.
“We are thrilled to be associated with the best mountain biking stage race in the world,” said Rob Hoatson, Managing Director of THIRSTI Water. “Absa Cape Epic riders are people with a thirst for life, and this value is at the core of the THIRSTI brand. We will be fuelling them with the best that nature has to offer – water that is sourced deep from within the Klein Drakensberg mountains, with a unique taste and pH of 8.”
Strategic water points on route will enhance the riders experience as they traverse scenic fynbos valleys, majestic mountains, spectacular coastlines and historic towns in the Cape. Typically, the race hosts 1300 riders, of which roughly 48% are international participants.
“The Absa Cape Epic is proud to announce its three-year partnership with KwaZulu-Natal based water brand, THIRSTI,” said Absa Cape Epic Managing Director, Michael Flinn. “Both the Absa Cape Epic and THIRSTI have unique, proudly South African brand stories that originate from humble beginnings and are centred on offering a premium product and experiences.”
