The Vilaca Racing Time Attack Championship returns for 2025.
According to the organisers, it’s going to “bring high-speed thrills, adrenaline-pumping action, and a celebration of motorsport culture to the tracks of South Africa.”
Taking place across some of the country’s most high-profile race circuits, including Red Star Raceway, Zwartkops Raceway, and the Formula-K SA Circuit, the 2025 Vilaca Racing Time Attack Championship promises to “deliver heart-racing performances, cutting-edge automotive technology, and a vibrant atmosphere that will have spectators on the edge of their seats.”
The series focuses on a race against the clock, with competitors pushing their cars to the limit in a bid for the fastest lap time.

“This year marks our sixth season of Vilaca Racing and we’re thrilled to bring even more speed, excitement, and energy to the track,” said Jono Vilaca, founder of Vilaca Racing. “The Time Attack Championship isn’t just about racing; it’s about creating an experience – one that brings together motorsport fans, families, and car enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy a fun and thrilling day out.”
This year’s series will see six rounds contested.
“Vilaca Racing isn’t just a race; it’s a community, a lifestyle, and a celebration of everything we love about cars and motorsport,” said Vilaca. “We’ve created an event where everyone – from seasoned car enthusiasts to families with young children – can come together to experience the excitement of racing in a safe, enjoyable environment.”
The series kicks off at Red Star Raceway in Delmas on Saturday, 8 March and according to Vilaca, what spectators can expect is the following: live racetrack action; a family-friendly atmosphere and perfect day out for families with entertainment for all ages; and a celebration of cars, from street cars to race-ready machines.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate for R100 and children under 12 get free entry.
