Betway SA20 and South African 4G and 5G network operator, rain, have renewed their partnership.
The two-year agreement, which sees rain come on board as ‘proud 4G and 5G partner’ of the tournament, builds on the success of the previous season, where rain joined in on the semi-finals and final.
In 2024, the partnership will bring more opportunities for 4G and 5G connectivity for fans, whether watching live or streaming the 34 matches.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with rain as our 4G and 5G network operator partner,” said Betway SA20 League Commissioner, Graeme Smith. “We are committed to innovation, entertainment and keeping our fans connected. We are jointly working on a number of creative elements for season 2 and cannot wait to bring this partnership to life. Our ongoing ambition is to connect fans to SA20 and make sure they don’t miss a moment of quality cricket and entertainment during the season.”

The inaugural season of Betway SA20 was an unprecedented success, with packed stadiums, world-class cricket, and heaps of entertainment, and both parties are looking to build on that success.
“As a proudly South African company, we are crazy about the game of cricket and the incredible opportunities and engagements that this tournament brings to the fans in the stadium as well as on the other side of a screen. We will be doing everything we can to grow the spirit of cricket inside stadiums, and on the streets, parks and living rooms across the country,” said Brandon Leigh, CEO of rain.
This is not rain’s first sports sponsorship. It got involved in the 3TC Solidarity Cup match to support those affected by Covid-19 in 2020 and the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2022, before partnering with the Betway SA20 in 2023.
The second season of the Betway SA20 gets underway on 10 January, when defending champions, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, take on the Joburg Super Kings at St George’s Park.
