Judge Zak Yacoob has stepped down as Chairperson of Cricket South Africa’s interim board.
That’s after he verbally attacked a TimesLive journalist last week.
Tiisetso Malepa was quizzing Yacoob about suspended Acting Chief Executive Kugandrie Govender and attempting to interview him on the matter, but Yacoob launched into a tirade, calling the journalist an “idiot”.
Yacoob apologised on Tuesday, but stepped down on Wednesday, after meeting with Sports Minister Nathi Mthethwa.
Dr Stavros Nicolaou will operate as stand-in chair for now.
