Stillwater Sports has confirmed that the three-day stage trail run, AfricanX, has received the green light to take place later this month.
The race will take place at the Houw Hoek Hotel – Bot River, Overberg Region/Western Cape – the weekend of 26–28 March.
“The Theewaterskloof Events Office has confirmed that they are satisfied with our Covid mitigation strategy and are happy to give AfricanX the green light to take place in March,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “This is the news that we’ve been working and hoping for. There is a long list of requirements that need to be met to ensure that the event is hosted in a safe and responsible manner. We have been and will continue to be in constant communication with the local municipality and Disaster Management Officials to ensure the safety of runners, staff and all external stakeholders at the event. We appeal to all parties involved to please play their part by adhering to government regulations. We look forward to welcoming runners to the start line on Friday, 26 March for an extraordinary trail running experience.”
