The Fidelity Titans have announced that car maker, Renault South Africa, will be their ‘Official Vehicle Partner’ for a period of three years.

The global automotive brand has been in existence for 125 years and is positioned within the top five vehicle manufacturers in the passenger car market in South Africa.

“We are excited to partner with forward-thinking brands that are willing to support women’s cricket, more so in the way Renault have done, by making meaningful contributions to take the women’s game forward,” said Titans Cricket CEO, Dr Jacques Faul. “To have recently professionalised women’s cricket in South Africa and not long after have a brand like Renault come on board as a partner speaks volumes of the spirit within the team at Renault.”

According to Renault, its aim is to strengthen its association with progressiveness and equality in the sporting world, increasing the support of women’s sports, and fostering community engagement.

“On the topic of equality in sport, with our partnership with the Titans and more specifically, the women’s cricket team, we aim to make a difference and steer positive change, promote inclusivity and equality, all while cultivating meaningful partnerships,” said Shumani Tshifularo, CEO at Renault South Africa.

Vice-President of Marketing at Renault South Africa, Sithabile Maphumulo, echoed these sentiments.

“Our partnership with the Fidelity Titans will further enable positive development within the realm of women’s sport,” she said. “When more brands start participating and supporting women’s sports, this will enable growth and support. Women’s sport is topical at the moment and this is based on the incredible talent we have within the country, which deserves recognition.”
