Mr Price Sport has announced that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with SASCOC that sees it become the ‘Official Technical Partner’ of Team South Africa.
The deal was brokered by Johannesburg-based consultancy, Flash Sponsorship.
The four-year deal will include this year’s Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, 2023 All Africa Games in Ghana, and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“For the first-time in history, the South African Olympic and Paralympic athletes will be dressed in locally-developed athletic apparel for the respective opening ceremonies, during competition and quite possibly on the podium as well,” says Ant Garstang, MD of Flash Sponsorship.
“We are super proud to be associated with and support Team South Africa on the world stage, and to form this partnership during such challenging times,” says Dylan Cherry, Head of Marketing for Mr Price Sport. “We are confident that the Mr Price Sport customer is going to love the direct access to Team South Africa product. This is perfectly aligned with our purpose to make active sportwear affordable for all South Africans”.
It’s the latest deal brokered by Flash Sponsorship on behalf of Mr Price Sport, which has recently wrapped up deals with the Sharks rugby franchise and the Comrades Marathon Association.
