Former Agency of the Year, Levergy, leads the nominations for the 2023 Hollard Sport Industry Awards, with 31 entries on the shortlist for this year’s event, which takes place in Johannesburg on the 23rd of November.

Levergy’s entries are across most of the 17 categories and it will also go up against Playmakers Sponsorship, T&W, Retroviral, Mscsports, EXP and Access Management Services for Agency of the Year.

Playmakers and T&W are the other agencies to dominate the shortlists, with the former earning 28 nominations, including five in the Campaign of the Year category and four in the Experiential Marketing Award category.

As expected, T&W – the makers of the highly-rated ‘Chasing the Sun’ Springboks docu-series three years ago – are particularly strong in the audio-visual categories and have five entries shortlisted in Sports Promo of the Year – where its main competition is with Levergy, which has four – and two in the long-form Audio Visual category.

Brands to feature on this year’s shortlist include Telkom, Nedbank, Absa, KFC, Castle Lager and SPAR, whilst a fair amount of SuperSport work features across the 17 categories.

There will also be five ‘Special Awards’ handed out at the event: Sports Commentator of the Year, Sport Lifetime Achievement Award, Sport Lifetime Community Award, Sport Industry Personality of the Year, and Leadership in Sport Business.

The 2023 Hollard Sport Industry Awards event will take place at Turffontein Racecourse on Thursday the 23rd of November.
