The FA’s England squad announcement for UEFA EURO 2020 saw the governing body team up with multi-award-winning music artist, Wretch 32 for a film entitled ‘The Call Up’.

The rap and grime legend – whose real name is Jermaine Scott – provided the creative vision behind the film which formally revealed the 26 players England manager Gareth Southgate has selected to represent the country at the tournament.

Delivering a ‘message of unity and hope that unifies different cultures, communities and generations,’ the film is scored with a track penned by the critically acclaimed British rapper, with Wretch using his rhymes to celebrate the players, fans and volunteers across the country.

The film closes with an illustration by renowned artist Reuben Dangoor – whose Three Lions-inspired artwork went viral during the FIFA 2018 World Cup – emblazoned on a tower block building spotlighting Gareth Southgate and several England players alongside ‘pillars of the community’. The final frame lists the 26 names Southgate has selected for the UEFA EURO 2020 squad.
