According to sportbusines.com’s Jonathan Rest, African football’s governing body has given interested parties until the last week in May to register their interest.

The Confederation of African Football has launched an invitation to tender for a ticketing services provider for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

All final technical and financial bids must be submitted to CAF by 12h00 (Cairo time) on 24 May.

The 2023 AFCON will take place in five cities across Ivory Coast – Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, Bouake, Korhogo and San-Pedro – but will actually be played in January and February 2024, because of concerns about the rainy season in the host country.

The winning bidder will perform a number of duties in the run-up to and during the tournament, including: development of a ticketing strategy and plan; provision of a web and mobile ticket app for fans to purchase tickets; access control management in all venues; fan zones management; and provision of on-site ticket sales and distribution services.

CAF last month issued a Request for Proposal with a view to securing the services of an agency (or agencies) to find sponsors for its competitions across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

Expressions of interest had to be submitted to the confederation by 26 April.
