Premium home and kitchen appliance brand, AEG, has unveiled its partnership with former Springbok rugby player, Tendai ‘Beast’ Mtawarira.
The partnership was facilitated by Roc Nation Sports International.
The former Bok prop retired from rugby after the World Cup final victory over England in 2019. He is the most capped prop in South African history with 117 caps.
Since then, the father of two has been able to spend more time at home with his family and immerse himself in his business interests. But, he’s also decided to remodel the family kitchen and that’s where the relationship with AEG comes in.
“I am delighted to be able to partner with AEG, being a leading manufacturer of beautifully crafted, superior home appliances and solutions that enrich peoples’ daily lives. I am especially proud to be associated with a business that is always striving to be at the forefront of sustainability in society through its solutions and operations,” said Mtawarira.

“We look forward to Beast representing our brand in South Africa as he exemplifies our core brand values and focus for the country in his professional and at-home lifestyle,” said Murray Crow, Managing Director at Electrolux South Africa, which manufactures household appliances for AEG Electrolux, Kwikot and Kelvinator. “We are thrilled to have him onboard and look forward to working together as we promote amazing consumer experiences.”
Like many people, together with his wife, Mtawarira has spent a great deal of time during the pandemic sprucing up parts of his home. The pair’s focus is now on the kitchen.
“My wife and I love to cook for and entertain our family and friends, and it’s therefore important that our kitchen is a comfortable space to work in and converse, as well as being functionally well-equipped, as it pretty much forms the nucleus of our family’s home. So, I’m thrilled to work with a brand that is creating sought-after living spaces,” said Mtawarira.
