The Soweto Marathon – the ‘People’s Race’ – will officially open entries for the 2022 edition on Friday 27 May.
This year’s race takes place on Sunday 6 November, with the race route continuing to honour the area’s rich history as it takes runners through Soweto and its iconic sites.
“We’re delighted to announce that all is on track to host the Soweto Marathon post our two year hiatus,” said Soweto Marathon Trust Chairman, Sello Khunou. “The 27th edition will bring with it a tremendous gratefulness for life as we honour those lost to Covid-19 and all the struggles associated with the pandemic. We also encourage all would be participants who have not been vaccinated to do so ahead of the race in November, for the preservation of all our lives.”
