The IOC has overseen boxing at the past two Olympic Games after suspending the International Boxing Association (IBA) in 2019 due to concerns over governance, finance, refereeing, and ethical standards.
The IBA was formally stripped of its status in June 2023 following a failure to implement reforms.
World Boxing, established in April 2023, now has 78 member federations. It has implemented governance and integrity measures, including independent oversight for Paris 2024 and adherence to the World Anti-Doping Code.
